Geth_in_beer (665), Nova Scotia, Canada Aug 19, 2008 Cheers Joe Mcphee for this one. Smoked, caramel, heavenly sweet and malty aroma. Great slight off white head. Nutty flavour, slick flavoursome ale. Well balanced, little bit of liquorice, perfect bitterness. Roasted malt. Great rich flavour, maybe a little to rich for my taste but makes out to be one of my favourite Brown ales. Lovely. DandyWolfFloyd (225), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2008 Aroma is full of dark malts, chocolate most present. It’s color is dark brown, with a thin white head. It’s flavor is balanced with hops and dark malts. It’s chocolate characters are the most noticable. It’s a great session, with lots of flavor. Very good. Steinface (63), Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2008 Aroma of chocolate. Very creamy pour. Goes down like most brown ales, very smooth and refreshing without being like water. Why doesn’t everyone love brown ales? They reign supreme NomDeBeer (129), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 14, 2008 Aroma of caramel and toffee. Tastes like roasted nuts a bit of coffee plus hops. Very smooth and drinkable. Ljunkan (120), Karlstad, Sweden Aug 14, 2008 On tap @ Bishops Arms, Karlstad. Nice aroma of chocolate, coffee and hops. Taste is quite hoppy with citrus, but also roasted malt, chocolate and caramel/toffee. As with most beers from Brooklyn this is great and it did taste even better on tap.
