Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. Beige head recedes to skim surface. Caramel aromas. Dry and crisp with caramel from front to back.

Draft: pours a dark brown with a thin tan head, aroma of malt, caramel, taste is malty with some chocolate, pretty bitter as well - I was surprised to see such a hop presence in this.

bottle courtesy of Hopscotch. pours a deep brown with a wonderful thick tan head... lots of nice aromas... some coffee, caramel, and burnt roasted malts... medium body ... more bitter up front, while deep and roasty towards the back... some plum and chocolate cherries linger as well... especially through the finish. nice brown ale.

I really liked this beer for a brown ale. Lots of caramel and maltyness. All maltyness actually. Rich with nutty flavors, dark, and not one dimensional.

Bottle. Pours a very dark amber color with a small off white head that diminishes very quickly to nothing. The aroma is rich malt with chocolate, and roasted nut. The taste is similar to the aroma with a rich roasted malt with a lot of coffee flavor. Easy to drink and a very good brown ale from Brooklyn.

Deep brown color with a slightly off-white head. Strong malty aroma with hints of caramel and toffee. Flavor is very similar to coffee ice cream. Too much in my opinion. Not very drinkable.

Mahogany red color with a nice tan head. Quite sweet malty aroma with burnt sugar and chocolate. Slightly roasted malt flavor with nutty chocolate hints. Smooth finish with a hint of coffe and short aftertaste. Very drinkable with a light mouthfeel.
