Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Brooklyn Brown uses pale, crystal, chocolate, and black malts to attain a complex creamy texture. It is more heavily hopped than its British forbears.

Poured a very dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma of chocolate malts. Taste is chocolaty with nuts. I’d say it is sweeter than most brown ales I’ve tried. The flavor is overall pretty one-dimensional however.

Bottle. Dark reddish brown with little carbonation that produces a small, brief head. Grassy clover aroma. Slightly sour and astringent start adds a little hoppy bitterness and moves to a sweet finish. Mouthfeel a bit flat.

Dark amber colored, little light brown head. Chocolaty aroma, sweetness and berries also here, nice one. Medium bodied. Flavor also starts with chocolate and sweetness, aftertaste turns to nicely hopped and bitter with some berries. Nicely carbonated palate.

How have I not had this before? I had this on cask at the Atlanta Cask Ale Festival. I was a bit surprised by the nuttiness of the malt. Pretty tasty beer.

bottle poured a mahogany in color with average carbination and a one finger head of light tan foam melting back to a thin layer with good retention. aroma has chocolate and caramel malt, light roasted coffee, and slight sweetness like molasses. mouth feel is medium light with some creaminess. flavor is malted first with more coffee than in the nose, touch of sweetness, and some faint bitter dark chocolate. again a nice drinking beer from Brooklyn medium on the hardiness scale with a finish that stays strong on the tongue for a minute.

Smells of caramel and hos, quickly fading to nothing. Pours a dark ruddy brown with a small bubbly tannish head. Taste is rich roasted malts, caramel and some coffee with a hint of hops. A very nice example of a brown.

Tasted at Atlanta Cask Ale fest @ Sweetwater. Pours brown. Aroma of lightly hopped with some chocolate and nutty notes. Taste is also nutty. Cask may make this smoother than normal, but this was very smooth. Nice brew.
