Oct 2, 2007 From the bottle this pours a clear chestnut body with a healthy beige head. Little lacing. The aroma has lightly roasted malts with soft caramel and a mild nutty bitterness. Oct 1, 2007 This is a fine brown ale. One of my favorite beers to have when I go out. Nice nuttyness and dark caramel. Very low sweetness and nice nutty malt finish.

Sep 28, 2007 Bottle. Dark reddish-brown color with a white head. Chocolate and roasted malt aroma with a fruity kick. The flavor has a slight resemblance with the Brooklyn East India Pale Ale probably because of the heavy hopping, but the coffee flavor does stick out to give it the brown ale character. Hoppy palate, which is quite exceptional.

Sep 26, 2007 From bottle : Pours a very dark brown, boarderline black, with a finger of offwhite head. Hops are the first thing that i get a whiff of, along with a little bit of chocolate, and some fruit. Palate is medium bodied. Flavor is malty in the beginning then quickly turns to hops, a little bit of roastedness in the ending. Not very brown ale-ey for me, doesnt have enough of the familiar roastedness and chocolate.

Sep 24, 2007 A very malty brew. The hops and the esters combine to produce and clean, crisp brew with a creamy palate. At its usual price, it’s a very good deal.

Sep 24, 2007 12oz. bottle - pours very dark brown. Looks almost black sitting on a table, but is a deep and rich brown when it catches the light. Medium mocha head that leaves web-like lacing in the glass. Chocolate, nuts and dark fruit in the aroma with some easily detectable hoppiness. Flavour is sweet and malty with hops coming forward in the finish with brown sugar and fruit dominate, with a mild bitter roastiness in the long finish. Aftertaste of earthy hops. Quite nice. Very drinkable and smooth in the mouth.
