tarheels86 (704), Washington DC, USA May 11, 2009 On tap at Tyler’s Taproom in Carrboro. Pours a cloudy orange with a decent tan, creamy head that leaves delicate and gratuitous lacework. Subdued aroma of candied light fruits, spices, spicy alcohol, Belgian yeast, wheat, dough. Taste is doughy with strawberry shortcake, apricot, peach and a background of nutmeg and cinnamon. Medium to watery body. Very clean, neutral finish. yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Mar 22, 2009 Draft at fest. Nice and smooth. Sweet and fruity with a nice body. A little hope and bitter balance it out nicely. Very good. Lubiere (4464), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Mar 5, 2009 A dark amber ale with a thin white head. A bizarre cloves aroma, with cinnamon notes, very uncharacteristic of a Belgian ale. In mouth, a light candy sugar with bananas, oily mouthfeel, berries, and a light alcohol warmth. On tap at Willimantic Brewing Company and Main Street Cafe, Inbièrenationale IV, May 2007. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Jan 28, 2009 Tap at Bar Great Harry. Fantastic beer. Huge, beautiful head. Perfectly dry, doughy aroma, lots of yeast, wheat and spice. Deeply complex and invitin4g. Flavor has a lovely hop, wheaty crunchiness and a light tart. Lively body, with nice caramel notes. Super slick Belgian. Superb. Pwn3d (1040), Manhattan, New York, USA Jan 27, 2009 Draft at Bar Great Harry. Probably the least memorable of the night. Light pour. Spicy with hints of apricot. Medium to light color. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Jan 27, 2009 Draft at BGH. Cloudy gold with a de ent head. Spicy Belgian yeast and wet hay aroma. Flavor is still hoppy with a sweet corn flavor which is good but a tinny flavor which isn’t. A bit medicinal so I’m thinking time wasn’t so kind to this once delicious brew. JohnQPublic (387), Brooklyn, New York, USA Nov 20, 2008 Draught @ BTAH, ’06 vintage. Pours cloudy amber, off-white head that shows some nice lacing. Nose is mellow - spicy, a bit yeasty, hint of candy sweetness. Flavor is also mellow - spicy yeast, some sweetness that combines with the yeast gives it almost a very light, sweet fresh baked bread quality, clean finish, light on the palate. This one is really all about the yeast. Mouthfeel is smooth, with light carbonation. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 19, 2008 Draft. Pours golden orange with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity with some yeast and candi sugar. Flavor is that and has a nice caramel body and a dry finish.
