Draft. Pours golden orange with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity with some yeast and candi sugar. Flavor is that and has a nice caramel body and a dry finish.

On draft at Capone’s. Pours a hazy orange caramel with a medium white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma of light spice, banana and dry fruit. Taste of dry fruit with hints of apricot and orange peel. Has a peppery finish.

On tap at The Blind Tiger for a Brooklyn event. Pours orange brown with a great creme head. Nose is not very prevalent. Flavor is bringing the yeasty funk. Stays smooth while it’s around, but the flavor is not overly lasting. Feel is thick with carbonation, but the liquid seems a tad thin. Definitely drinkable. A nice American interpretation of what can be a difficult style.

Comments: A classy, nicely done, albeit quite spice-focused dark Belgian ale of great smoothness and controlled sugariness.

Draft. An orange beer with a thin white head. The arom ais sweet with strong notes of spices and yeast. And the flavor is also sweet with strong notes of spices - especially thyme, but the yeast is also very evident, leading to a dry spicy finish. Very Belgian.

Cole’s on Tap. A smokey, malty, and spicy aroma, hazy orange/red, tiny tan head. Toasty malt flavour, spices meld harmoniously. Medium bodied, quite well balanced, nice tongue tingle. Great stuff!
