Commercial Description:
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

Gold amber with a white head. Spicy floral hops with a hint of lemon. Utterly beautiful. Sweet, citric taste with pine and thick honeyed malt lurking unsuspected in the background. Mid bitter finish. A lot going on here, and all of it enjoyable.

Draught at the Magician, New York, New York. A well-balance beer with flavours of hops and citrus. The aroma of pine was a bit odd; almost like cleaning products. Not bad.

A solid IPA. Color is copper with a fairly nice head and a good amount of lace on the glass. The aroma is floral and hoppy with some spice character. Sweet and hoppy tasting, bitter finish and a nice malty balance. Also, when compared to another IPA (Stone IPA) this was maltier and not quite up to that level. Still, this is a nice IPA and I look forward to having it again.

Draught at the Magician, New York City. This isn’t the classic that Goose Island’s IPA is, nor is it as good as Brooklyn Lager, but it does the trick. It’s refreshing with a nice floral hop character and a fruity finish.

Bottle from Utobeer. Amber coloured with a short-lived, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, with some citrus and floral hops. Flavour had lots of sweet malt, a touch of grapefruit and then a decent bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Poured into pint glass. Nice, rich, creamy head. Settled down around rim. Color is light and golden, lighter than many IPA’s. Unbelievably floral hoppy smell, just amazing. Fantastic smelling brew.Very balanced in hops and malt, unlike a lot of IPA’s that are overhoppy (not bad or good). Full flavored beer. Rich and flowery hop finish. Sweet, yet balanced. Very tasty brew.

bottle. small off white head into murky brownish - orange body with very noticeable sediments floating around. head dissapated quickly and almost completely. aromas of moderate juicy sweet citrus hops and moderate caramel malts. flavors are moderately sweet throughout...almost too sweet without enough bitter to balance it out. okay IPA.

Pours a medium to dark brown with a cream colored head. Though hops were expected I was caught a bit off guard with an almost sweet characteristic hidden in the taste. This was definately the best out of the variety pack.
