Commercial Description:
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

A dark orange beer with a fine head. The aroma is fruity and yeasty. The flavor is sharp, lightly sweet and nice bitter - very filling for an IPA

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear amber colour, nice creamy and quite stable head. Very bubbly carbonation. Pronounced bitterness but also aroma from the good quality hops used here. Also some underlying sweetness. Very classical and typical American IPA. And that’s no bad thing...

35.5 cL bottle. Pours clear amber with little head. Aroma is a nice soft blend of aroma hops and caramel malts. Flavour is wellbalanced hops and malts, the hops don’t really take over in the flavour like in most IPAs, but is softly gliding into the malt notes. Ends in a dry and yet soft bitterness

Bottled. Amber coloured. Sweet and resiny. Hard and clean with some citrus. One dimensional with overly resiny bitter finish. A well lacquered bottle of nothing. Was it really this empty some years ago?

Bottled. Dark golden colour with decent white head. Fruitish hoppy aroma. At first caramellish sweet flavour, but turns into a nice bitter hoppy finish. Also sweet citrus in the bitterish aftertaste. One of the pearls I had at HBF 2005.

Ambe rcolour with small white head. Nice aroma of malt, hops, aroma hops and spices. Malty taste with notes of citrus and alcohol that ends up with a fine bitterness. Nice IPA.
