Commercial Description:
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. Garrett Oliver, a student of English brewing and beer history, uses English malts and hops to brew his EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers created for British soldiers serving in India.

It’s EAST India Pale Ale, so you don’t get it confused with NORTH India Pale Ale, which is made with seals. Or something. I don’t know, it’s an English IPA, and really, that style is pretty boring to me. I guess it’s a good example of the EIPA, but that’s pretty much a below average beer to me. It’s got drinkability.

12oz bottle from Orland Park Binny’s single rack. Pours dark golden with white head. Aroma is pale malts, light hops and caramel. Flavors are pale malts, caramel, light hops and citrus. Flavor profile is of English variety which is not a favorite. Light bitterness overall. Worth a try but would not buy again.

355 ml bottle. Finland.
Hazy amber colour with small white head. Dark hoppy aroma with alcohol. Dark harsh hoppy flavour. Not as fresh as Brooklyn Lager.

Bottle, pours a clear copper with lots of bubbles, small white hear that disipates quickly, Aroma good floral and citrus almost sweet. Taste, hit with big floral hops, crisp, grapefruit on the back end that lingers and leaves a good dry mouth feel

35.5cl bottle; Clear, golden colour with a cream-coloured, medium-sized foamy head. Slightly sweet cara-malty aroma with an aromatic spicy, subtle fruity and slightly woody hoppy note. Moderately bitter flavour with a slightly sourish fruity edge, medium bodied with a well-matured carbonation. Solid cara-malty base with spicy and citrus-fruity notes, accompanied by a whiff of licorice. Dry and bitter finish with an assertively fruity and woody hops character and a lasting spicy and malty aftertaste. Quaffable and refreshing stuff. 22.XII.08

Poured amber with slight carbonation and a head to did stick around for a little while. Decent hop aroma with notes of herb and citrus. On mouth this is a lighter medium bodied IPA with noticeable hops on the sides of the tongue. The finish is quick and short lived.

Not a very strong offering from Brooklyn the aftertaste is very bitter and it is not a very good blend of the malts can still taste a very alcohol flavor to this beer and did not enjoy it very much
