White, thin head, that dissipated quicker than I believe it was intended to. Complex aroma, including many spices such as wintergreen, ginger, hop, and citrus. Medium carbonation, but refreshing and not harsh to the palate. Smooth and pretty balanced. Complex flavor, that starts like a witbier. Starts sweet, with fruity, citrus, clove, ginger, and wintergreen flavors, but transforms into strong hop bitterness. No strong alcohol taste, so its hides the 8.5% ABV very well. I thought the finish was not a good match to the start, but I appreciate the complex relationship. Finish lingered with hop bitterness. A nice take on Belgian ale, but not as good. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2006 Cloudy golden pour with a very foamy off white head. It took a while for the foam to die down. Aroma had banana, citrus, corriander, lemon, wheat and white wine. Tart yet smooth taste with no trace of alcohol. To me this was like a saison, tripel and blonde ale combined into one beer. Pretty impressive overall. TomDecapolis (3171), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a lightly hazy golden with an average foamy white head. Aroma of banana, belgian spices and bubblegum. Flavors fo the same with more of the yeast coming through. hopdog (5576), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a medium and hazy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of bananas, fruity, cloves, light wheat and some lemons. Tastes of lighter bananas, stronger lemons, and some wheat. Light alcohol finish. Light lacing left on the glass. zach8270 (2096), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 24, 2006 (draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Cloudy yellow pour with a nice and fizzy white head. Aroma is very spicey with hints of lemon, grains, grass, alcohol and some citrus. Flavor is much spicier than I was expecting, with lots of citrus, lemon and grains. Almost tasted like a saison to me. Very smooth finish with a nice little alcohol kick. Hides the alcohol well and tastes really good. ZOSOMAN12020 (27), Malta, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2006 Good copy of Victory’s Golden Monkey; if you like that brew, this is a couple bucks cheaper, if available in your area. dolemike1 (1129), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2006 Cloudy, yellowish orange body, big white head, nose of lemon, coriander, and grass. Flavor is much that of a belgian white beeer with spice, some lemon and orange, and a pleasant, but light hop finish. Pretty good.
