Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Wonderful light brown color. Aroma is of smoked malt and German hops. Light mouth-feel with some of the light graininess that you’d expect from a Vienna lager. Finish is crisp but mellow. Excellent. One of my favorite versions of this style. Once again impressed by Brooklyn.

Tasting at Brewtopia. I will say that for a Lager style beer this is pretty decent. Amber pour. Whitish head. Aroma is malty and hoppy both. I get some sweet floral hops, some caramel and toffee malt. Flavor lends itself to a good balance between hops and malt without having that normal nasty lager flavor that so many beer get stuck with. Pretty refreshing and tasty.

Mild sweet aroma. Clear medium yellow body that is slightly fizzy. Light, pleasurable taste with a slight hop finish. Very drinkable, but not very intense. This is a great drinking beer, but has very little to offer in terms of breadth of palate or intensity of flavor.

Dark amber beer with an off white head. Sweet caramel, floral aroma. Good hop flavour, nicely bitter with a light syrupy sweetness to balance it out. Quite full bodied for a lager, but good nonetheless. Great beer, much better than expected

(12 oz bottle consumed Nov. 5, 2008- served in shaker) Poured transparent dark amber, low carbonation, half finger white head that tried to lace. Aroma of vinyl, hard water, and old wheat- YUMMY! Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt feel is ok, nice feel in the middle, hops on the backend and finish. Refreshing- the prototypical microbrew- which in this case is a good thing!

Cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Malty and hoppy notes. Caramel, malt and bitterness. Mefium body with a bitter aftertaste.

Very nice blend of malt and hops. Not too sweet, bland or overcarbonated like alot of lagers. I can drink this often. Excellent lager.
