Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX. Pours a very nice looking clear amber with thick off-white head. Has a nice malty floral aroma. Flavor is malty, hop flavor, with nice hop bitter. Mouthfeel is light-medium body, high carbonation. Over all, pretty good beer.

This had a very hoppy scent especially for a lager. It was probably the hoppiest lager that I have had. Very different which is what I liked about it.

Aroma is hoppy and floral. Color is a nice copper. Flavor follows up on the hop aroma and is balanced by a maltiness. A fine lager except I’m not sure what category this belongs in.

Had this in ’06 on tap in times square for the first time and loved it. Trying in now two and a half years later from a bottle and it’s mediocre. It’s amazing what time spent in the upper eschelon of craft beer can do to your old ’favorites’. In this beer’s defence, I think it was a great ’gateway beer’ to explore what else is out there. If you’re just getting into ’craft’ and don’t have a taste for much yet, this is the beer for you. I thought it was wonderfully hopped for a lager, and I credit this beer with opening my tastes to the IPA style (which is now my preference). Give it a try and see where you go.

From bottle. Part of Dayton Beer Tasting July Event. Paired with Garlic Shrimp Skewers. Poured clear golden with a small off-white head. Floral and light yeasty notes on the nose Easy drinking with just a slight hint of sweetness.

Creamy non persistent head with a wonderful polished teak colour. A subtle yet persistent toasted chestnut flavour. I am astounded at how good this is. You see, living proof lager doesn’t have to taste like a urine sample, now does it guys!

pours a big off white creamy head amber colour, looks very appetizing. Aroma is very floral and fruity with notes of malt and hops. It has a medium body with distinct biterness and a quality that i can’t clearly describe, but I love it! mouthfeel is rather sparkly, but it goes together perfectly with the flavour. If I had to choose a beer to drink for the rest of my life this would be it!

12 oz bottle. Pours clear deep amber/gold with a small off white head. Nose of floral hops, malts and perhaps a hint of wheat. Taste of malts with some nice hoppiness coming on towards the somewhat bitter finish. Medium body. Overall pretty impressive.
