Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

A very flavorful lager, clear gold color, dry aftertaste. What a good lager could and should be.

12 ounce bottle. Copper in color, white foamy head. Grapefruity and hoppy. It nice. I think I would like it more when it gets warmer out. Nice carbonation...just right. Lots of great flavor. Nice beer.

Bottle. Light amber color w/ a white head. Nice hoppy aroma: citrus and a bit flowery. Refreshing, well-balanced flowery hop flavour: citrus and grapefruit. Nice bitterness. A filling and very drinkable lager beer from Brooklyn. One of my favourite lagers.

Copper with beige head. Hop and caramel cookie aroma/. Complex caramel malt, nicely toasted, and hop flavor character. Nice bitter finish. Medium light body and medium carbo. Very nice and complex enough not to be boring. Satisfying.

LCBO about $2 per bottle. Hoppy aroma. Copper with a foamy white head that sticks around and coats the glass. Creamy, hoppy dry, clean taste. Easy drinking, all "lagers" should taste this could. Dry bitter after-taste.

35,5cl bottle @ home. Copper! very dark for a lager - we shall continue... but found not much, except malt and a very bitter hoppy finish, but hey, the last time i looked it said ’lager’ on the bottle. Where did the 3.43 average come from?

On tap. Pours a med-dark amber, small head. This is a full bodied solid lager. Nice fruity nose with a strong malt finish. A great session beer, and very drinkable. I could be wrong, but I am under the impression that the tap beer is brewed in brooklyn, and the bottle version is brewed in upstate New York. This is an old standby particularly when I am in places lacking micros and good imports, and I am never disappointed.

Amber with a fine head. Spicy and flawery aroma with notes of citrus. The flavours are grape and iron on a malty background.
