Flavor was initially very bitter with some malt; later transitioned into a distinct citrus finish. It was all right, but seemed heavy on the hops for a Vienna lager -- a little too much to be considered clean and crisp. Citrus fruit finish was unexpected. stantheman (17), British Columbia, Canada

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Sep 4, 2009 I’ve had Brooklyn Lager a couple times. I always come away with the same impression.
I could go into a extended review of the beer. Brooklyn makes quality beers, but to sum it up quickly...
The beer is out of balance. The Hop flavor overpowers the beer start to finish.
Hops quickly over power the malt flavor I am looking for in a medium lager, and interferes with the crispness of the finish. BrotherGrendel (602), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2009 Draft at Pinhook. Cloudy yellow to orange hue with a thin layer of white head. Nose is malt with a touch of sweetness and perhaps diacetyl. Flavor is light malts and grains, pretty standard lager. Light-medium body with a clean texture that is almost too thick for the style. I don’t think this was the freshest specimen, but still quite drinkable and refreshing, east coast all the way! angrybeerman (107), Dublin, Ireland

Hoppy flavor that went down very well. Had it some time ago and can’t remember the finer details of this beer. I do remember that it tasted good though. Jblauvs (605), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2009 amber pour with a minimal head. Floral hop aroma with some nice toasted malt character. Clean, crisp flavor with nice toasted malt flavor and slightly bitter hopping. nice DeeBee21 (45), NH, New Hampshire, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 30, 2009 hazy copper pour, minimal head. Aroma of citrus hops, lots of orange peel, a little bit of both sweetness and floral notes as well. Flavor is pretty grainy, and taste of sulfur, not really what i expected. Very dry bitter hops. Little metallic flavor to me. Not undrinkable but not a favorite of mine. walrussell (121), , Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2009 nice and hoppy with a mild malty biscuit sweetness in the middle. Really crisp and clean flavor. Smell is hoppy but also a little like melon candy - overall though, not fruity. Very straightforward, very good. Better than all other low alcohol hoppy beers I’ve had, and way way better than all low alcohol lagers Got this because it was a lager in a can, and I had heard that Brooklyn made good beer - but I thought that it would still suck - cuz damn, its a lager in a can. But it is good. I could drink many of these.
