DeadGuyFrank (345), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Aug 14, 2007 One of my favorites. This is for me was the epihany of lagers. I remember when I was 19 first tasting this and saying, "wow!" Really enjoyable, truly a everyday beer - great with many foods....simply put -> buy a case and never be disappointed. HoosierDadday (13), USA Jul 12, 2004 This is a fantastic beer. Brooklyns best, and thats saying something. Quite possibly the best lager brewed in the United States LordCrabapple (68), Merseyside, England Nov 17, 2007 This is American, but rather delicious. Quite exquisite: perfumed, fruity, sweet, bitter. One of my favourite beers, but seems to have disappeared from here. Wretched shame. Beer Guy99 (250), Maineville, Ohio, USA Jun 7, 2002 Pours a deep tawny golden color. Thick, frothy head lasts a long time. Aroma of fresh hops greets the drinker (Cascades?). Wow! Very impressive lager! Well balanced malty to hops…maybe just a bit hoppier than expected. Reminiscent of Samuel Adams Boston Lager in style and flavor but better. The bottle calls this “The Pre-Prohibition beer.” If so, they knew what they were doing back then. It’s difficult to classify this beer to a particular style though. Definitely not a Pils and the hops are too evident for a Munich, Dortmunder or Vienna. Whatever it is, it is good. The amount of hops in this beer is on par with a fine American pale ale. Excellent job. I really enjoyed it. pilsnerrogge (1609), Finspång, Sweden Jan 28, 2002 Fruity, full of flavours, a bit sweet. Long aftertaste.
