hophead_hans (583), Bay Area, California, USA Jul 20, 2008 Bottle. Not the standard Pilsener style lager. Pours with a darker color than expected, essentially amber. Very malty and not so much spicy hops in there, in style indeed closer to an amber ale than anything else. Nonetheless it is a well balanced beer with a fairly robust body.
Paul150 (20), , Georgia, USA Oct 7, 2008 Pours a medium amber with a small, short-lasting head that dissipates to a nice lacing. Aroma is balanced between yeast, malts and hops, but is very mild overall. Taste is fairly hoppy for the style with some hints of the malt character behind it. Mouthfeel is still on the watery side, but it doesn’t detract from the overall experience. Another excellent, drinkable offering from the Brooklyn Brewery. hirigalzkar (43), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 3, 2008 Very light aroma with hops and malt. The taste is OK with a touch of caramel and some strange metallic extraneous flavour. lb4lb (1440), Austin, Texas, USA Sep 30, 2008 Pours a clearish golden amber color with a short lived whitish head. Smell is fruity, mildly hoppy and some subtle yeast. Taste is crisp and lightly hoppy up front with some yeasty flavor and malt behind that. Some light lingering hop fruitiness and bitterness making it very crisp and drinkable. More like a pale ale than the lagers I’m used to drinking and this was surprisingly good. Nice session beer with flavor. oreogobbler (173), Austin, Texas, USA Sep 29, 2008 Pours a completely transparent amber brown, beautiful carbonation, and a thick frothy head. Very yeasty aroma, maybe some toasted wheat, chestnuts, and caramel. Full body and well balanced flavor. Starts with a nice malty-ness, follows is some caramel, a tiny bit of hops and a crisp clean finish. This beer has great body, great flavor (though not very complex), great balance, and I enjoy it very much. Fantastic. thornecb (1128), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Sep 27, 2008 Pours deep amber into a shaker. Bright white micro head with excellent retention leaves spot lacing as it slowly recedes. Fruity orange aromas. Soft with upfront caramel and a lasting citrus finish.
