| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 25, 2009 Bottled. Wow. It’s Christmas and I bought this for my Uncle who is more of a Lager style beer drinker. Was not expecting this much. Amber in color with small but lasting head. Aroma is bready and sweet caramel (overall some sweet malt feel) balanced excellently by floral hops and earthier tones. Flavor is earthy hops, and dry-hopped floral, balanced back by sweeter caramel but remains dry throughout. Big bite for lager at end. A Christmas miracle. ALSO my 420th rating....I can’t believe the video they played after I saved it! tastybeer (127), Washington DC, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2009 In NY from a bottle. Nice frothy top with dark golden and copper color. A bit of citrus, toast and hey. Bubbles seem more refined and creamier than most lager. Well balanced finished which longer than expected finished with nice bitterness, malt and hey. One of better lager around. Fred82 (401), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 7, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours clear amber with a small head that is short lived. Nose is quite malty and citrusy. Some piny hops and some grain. Malts are sweet and chewy. Some caramel and a bit spicy. Taste is nicely fruity and malty. Some sweetness but not too much. Finish is neither dry nor sweet. Small hints of citrusy hops all along. Finish is a tiny bit hoppy and very fruity. Highly drinkable, tasty and refreshing. A bit more hops would be great but perhaps it once had more (I doubt this is a fresh bottle). oteyj (782), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Pours clear amber with lively carbonation in the body, and an ample one finger white head with tight bubbles that leaves a moderate lacing. Head retention is quite good. At first, the aroma meets with a light grass note and sweet caramel malt with hints of graininess. A very light hop character presents in the form of citrus and evergreen. The flavor provides a nice balance of caramel sweetness, mild toast, and a light but distinct resinous hop bitterness. A slight grainy astringency peeks in near the end, but intermingles with the hop profile so doesn’t act to detract too much. Palate is light bodied and nicely effervescent with a crisp clean finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Pours out a nice dark hold with a fluffy tan head. Light toasty aroma complemented nicely by the floral, grassy and slightly citrus-like hop character. Body is light with a nice lasting slightly bitter finish. Slight toasty flavors with notes of earthy hay. Finishes out well. Light and enjoyable. ralphdot (76), Billingham, Durham, England

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. The beer pours a deep amber color, with a small but resilient white head. Aromas of Munich malt come through in the nose, as does some earthy/spicey noble hop character. The palate is initially malty before transitioning to an assertive bitterness, and a surprising amount of hop flavor. Overall, a nice interpretation of an often poorly brewed style.
