Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

This foremost tastes like a mix between a good apple cider and Le Fin Du Monde. It’s major effervescence leaves a wonderful sting in the back of your through as your mouth is bombarded with fruit flavors and spices. A wonderful, gentleman’s cologne wafts off the glass- this is a man’s candy. 8.99 for a 25.5 oz at Whole Foods Market.

One of my favorite new go-to beers. Very well done rendition. Great effervesence with a nice spiciness.

Original bottle with the double rings around the neck (the new bottles have no rings). All around pleasing brew, it was great to sip on this fine treat during a heavy snowy evening. Pale gold body with strong and steady carbonation consisting of tiny bubbles. Large and frothy bright white head with blanketing lacing, looks real impressive. Unbelievably addicting aroma with a captivating scent made up of passion fruits, fresh flowers, heavy yeast esters and a mild peppery spice. A touch of banana is thrown in there as well. Smooth body that is fairly light, but still seems filling. There is the slightest hint of alcohol present, but it soon leads way to a great funky aftertaste. Pale and grainy malt flavors that are wrapped up with fruity yeast and noble/spicy hop accents. Biscuits, peaches and pear flavors along with a hint of vanilla round out this tasty brew. Enough complexity to keep me intrigued and happy throughout the whole bottle.

750ml in bordeaux glass. Large, foamy, lasting head on cloudy amber. Lactic tartness, berry sourness, and slight graininess on the nose. Winy, sweet, tingly, and a bit bitter. Finishes beautifully with delicate strawberry and apricot left on the palate.

Pours a massive head into my New Belgium globe. Color is dark straw, kind of cloudy. Aroma: sweet, fruity, some hops. strawberries, Taste: sweet, fruity. belgian yeast not detected. M&D: Pretty drinkable. Alcohol not apparent until it warms the gullet. Seems kind of a dumbed-down tripel. Not as good as the belgian examples. Serving type: bottle

0.75 l bottle at Old Bricks Inn, Jyväskylä. Golden color with big frothy head. Sweetish fruity and gently spicy aroma with honey, clove, pepper and grapefruit. Spicy and fruity flavor with pepper, clove, grapefruit, pineapple, honey and some fruity and warming tartness as well as balancing fruity bitterness. Initially sweetish but finishes dry. Very spritzy and highly carbonated. Much better with the yeast sediment. Well made but quite typical belgian golden strong ale.

This is a great representation of the Beligian style. Spicy, citrus fruit aroma with a very smooth mouthfeel. Nicley done by Brooklyn.
