Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

I’m not seeing this 92 rating at all. Just did nothing for me. Way to yeasty for my liking. I didn’t even finish the bottle.

shared 750 ml bottle... pours a light golden with a massive white head. citrus, spice and yeast in the aroma.... this carries through the palate. Excellent Belgian style taste and yeast presence. Medium body, smooth and quite drinkable. Somewhat bitter finish with a kick of citrus. Overall a very refreshing Belgian style ale that is not heavy or strong (even though it clocks in at 9%).

Bottle Pours out a cloudy gold topped with a white head. Aroma of yeast, spice, and clove. Tast more of that yeast a nice touch on the clove. Also a nice mix of fruit tast. A good Belg.

75 cl bottle. Pours a pale yellow colour with a white head. The aroma is Seville oranges, herby yeast, oranges and a hint of malty caramel. The flavour is quite sweet and you do taste the alcohol - it made me think of glue. There are also, more apparent notes of oranges, Seville oranges and some herby yeast. Warming.

Sampled at the 2008 Folio Weekly Beer Festival. From a big ol’ bottle, this seemed like a strong hefeweizen. Aromas of cloves and banana were overpowering. Very drinkable, should be a summer time offering.

Bottle at Flatbread: The reveiw from Guinness4Duff seems pretty spot on. The alcohol was gently present and provide the malts a nice forum.

Bottle. Not your typical Belgian strong, this looks and tastes more like a Hefe-Weizen with less spice and more kick. Aroma and taste of bananas and cloves. Interesting, different and a pretty good beer.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy light gold with a thin white head, very champagne like pour. Aroma of fruit and spices, very belgian like, yeast, cloves. Flavor is more of the same, heavy on the clove, some apple peel, a little dry in the finish, could’ve been drier. Nice carbonation. Good stuff.
