Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Insanely huge, thick head, some citrus, candi sugar, banana, little bit of bitterness. Understated, slightly acidic. Not amazing, but a good Belgian.

Nice banana and clove aroma from this beer. Pours a slightly cloudy straw yellow with a huge fluffy white head, and a lot of visible carbonation. The flavor is a bit on the sweet side, with hints of banana, bitterness, and sugar. Alcohol is very well hidden. A very drinkable beer.

Pours a nice hazy yellow. Big thick head. Aromas of spice, alcohol, bread, and citrus. Taste follows suit. Overall a great beer. It does fall a little short of my expectations though.

750 ml. Slight haze on the pale golden brew. Large and lasting head leaves nice lace on the Brooklyn Trappist glass. Aroma is light fruit, spicy yeasty bread, citrus, honey, and coriander. Flavors of citrus, resin, alcohol, wheat, white wine grapes, spices; slight banana and bubblegum. A tad-larger-than-light body is soft and dry.

Bottle. Slightly hazy yellow with large white head. Grass, sweet yeast, citrus. Maybe a bit too strong for me, especially in a such large bottle, 75 cl. Otherwise very nice Belgian beer.

750 ml bottle. This beer pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a small head. It is labeled a strong ale, and it is strong, but is more like a triple to me, or is that just semantics? Nice flavor, with an interesting hop, malt blend. Very drinkable, maybe too much so as the 9% is very unnoticeable. This beer rivals the best american belgians, and quite a few belgians.

Poured from bottle...Murky orange color, very thin head. Aroma was very nice. Sweet grass, lemons and honey. Flavor was yeast, malts, honey, citrus, and some spice. Very drinkable. Alcohol very well hidden. This could be a favorite go to beer.

bottle thanks to my buddy curt....i’ve had this a few times but never rated it....poures a lively golden, mostly transparent yellow-brown with a moderate white head..... aromas yeast, sweet sugary malts, breadiness, and mild spices.... flavors of sweet sugary confection which remains on the palate for awhile. light citrus notes also noticed along with a dry finish. mouthfeel is quite spritzy to boot.... i’d like to do a side by side of this with duvel and some other highly regarded belgian strong ales. not too bad though
