Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Bottle Golden pour with massive white head. Light aroma of esters and a bit of spice. Flavor follows accordingly. Pretty good Belgian, but not the best.

Bottle. Poured hazy gold with a fluffy white head that dissipated quickly leaving a good bit of residual lace. Love the aroma of caramel and bannanas. Not quite as complex in the mouth as the nose promised, but still good. Lots of bannanas and some citrus hoppiness that lends a hint of bitterness to the finish. Not my favorite Belgian Strong, but very good.

750 ml bottle via trade with AlexDeLarge - Pours a hazy light golden color with a one and a half finger thick white head. Very light clumpy lacing. Aroma is floral, citrus, light yeast, and esters (banana). Flavor is lightly sweetened malt, fruity esters, and light spice. Medium to full body. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth. Alcohol isn’t overbearing. A very drinkable beer. Thanks Jason.

Not what I thought. Poured a pale yellow. Very fiesty taste. Lots of floral flavors with a very dry finish. High carbonation and hard to taste the high alcohol content.

750 ML bottle (#1847). Right off the bat, I have to say not only is this one of my favourite styles of Beer, but this is on the level with my favourite Beer "Duvel". Awesome golden hazy colour, with great notes of Citrus and Yeast. Excellent flavour of sweet to sour citrus, and yeast. Head was nice and full. Very enjoyable!!

750ml bottle. Decent strong ale from the folks at Brooklyn. Nice citrusy, fruity and yeasty aroma. Nice on the palate although the head was not long lasting. Color was hazy yellow/orange. Was well balanced, something worth a second look.

Courtesy redlight. This one poured a golden orange color with a big foamy white head that recedes slowly and leaves spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is of sweet citrus fruits, malts, some hops, and spices. The flavor follwed suit with citrus fruits, malts and cinnamon spices. It had that nice strong ale flavor with the belgian yeast in it. The body was medium with the right amount of carbonation and smooth spicy finish. This was easy drinking with some good sweet flavor to it. Nicely done.

Tasted 1/18/08. 750ml bottle. Hazy and sedimented with a golden orange hue. Large bubbled white head. Aromas of orange citrus and grapefruit. Tons of fruity notes, melons peaches and candy peanuts. Sugary and brady malts. Good effervescence and dry. Crisp banana yeasty quality. Touch honey. Big and bright!
