DavidP (1712), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Mar 4, 2008 Bottle shared by Blake. Golden body under a small white head. Dry alcohol, bitter hops, and a touch of honey in the nose. The flavor improves with the honey element getting stronger alongside cracker dryness, alcohol and grassy hops. Good but not interesting to this sampler.
smag4life (15), Groton, Connecticut, USA Oct 7, 2008 Not my favorite style, but very good for what it is. It has a very pleasant fruity, yeasty and slightly hoppy aroma. The color is nice to look at and is appropriate for this style of beer. The flavor of the beer is good. Just the right amount of hop flavor without being too aggressive . It also satisfies the taste buds and allows the memory to linger on the palate. No bad after taste at all. Very good beer. blipp (809), Grand Island, New York, USA Oct 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours gold with a fluffy white head. The aroma is yeasty, fruity, and hoppy. The flavor brings more of a spicy dimension, and is also yeasty, and a bit earthy and hoppy. Very good. Hophead22 (252), Redlands, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 750ml bottle, thanks to Swolf3. Great looking bottle, real nice. Pours a light straw color. Smells very lemony and acidic. Very smooth mouthfeel, not too acidic at all, very light on the palate as well. Hide the 9% well. Not bad, thanks Steven. 17thfloor (726), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 1, 2008 Pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white froth. Fruity Belgian yeast and hop aroma, sweet with some coriander. Lightly sweet fruity upfront taste, the yeast and candi sugar provide all of the character, finishing chalky orange bitter. A tiny bit sour with some funk. Very light bodied with soft sparkling carbonation. A nice beer that leaves some to be desired. jkaiser (101), USA Oct 1, 2008 Damn Good. This was my fourth beer at beerfest. My notes are a little hoppy but super smooth. Hats off to the Local 1.
