Commercial Description:
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, we forge barley malt and hops from Germany, aromatic raw sugar from Mauritius and yeast from Belgium into our latest beer, Brooklyn Local 1. Behind the full golden color you'll find an alluring aroma, a dynamic complex of flavors. Belgian flair, Brooklyn fortitude and a dusting of our special yeast. To create this beer, we use the old technique of 100% bottle re-fermentation, a practice now rare even in Europe. It gives this beer a palate of unusual depth. Enjoy it locally or globally, as an aperitif or with your favorite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

750ml. I had no idea this was supposed to be somewhat of a Belgian...I mainly tasted a lot of overpowering sweet malts, blending with somewhat of a bananay yeast, with a very mild hop note in the middle. Alcohol is hidden well. Not very carbonated, this one goes down waaaay smooth. Not my favorite.

Bottle. Pours bright yellow/orange with medium head, good lacing. Smells of Belgian style, yeast, wheat, citrus. Taste is juicy orange, belgian wheat, slightly sweet, with some honey; medium carbonation is a great touch. The flavor is very full attributed to the bottle re-fermentation. Great lingering finish of belgian style. Some noticable hops that taste great as well. I heard this won’t be around much longer....sad if it’s true.

Bottle: Pours a cloudy golden color with a thin off-white head. Malty aroma is spicy and citrusy with hints of pepper, bananas, and honey. Flavor is sweet and tarty that is creamy yet a dry mouthfeel on the palate. Well balanced and enjoyable!

750 ml bottle, 8 months in storage. Medium golden with a bit of honey orange. Low, lacy head. Spicy, citrus aroma of honey, lemon, Belgian yeasts, golden malts. Spicy, citrus, honey-like flavor, spritzy, lots of honey and lemon, medium sweetness, nice hopping. More hops than a regular saison, a bit more simple in the malts, and a bit too much alcohol taste, but very nice. Excellent, nice all around, though a step down from a Dupont. Should age well for a couple years.

Bottle. Cloudy golden yellow color with a white head. Aroma: Sweet and fruity, oranges, tangerines, banana, yeast, pepper, caramel and spices. Flavor: Sweet fruit, oranges, tangerines, spices, wheat, yeast, alcohol and some bitterness in the finish. maybe a bit too sweet and cloying. Medium to full bodied. Not bad, but a bit too much after a while. I would rather drink Duvel.

750 mL bottle. Poured a hazy yellow color with a huge white head. Lacing was prevelant. Aroma was light citrus notes with a yeast/bread smell of a Belgian. Flavor has banana and cloves with some warming alcohol. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. This was a very enjoyable beer.
