The aroma is like an abbey dubbel - malty, burnt caramel, spicy, orange peel, yeast. Attractive brown/red appearance with lots of tan colored head. The flavor is sweet, caramel, spicy, orange peel, pepper, alcohol. The finish is mostly alcohol warming, pepper. The alcohol is relatively well hidden until the finish. The mouthfeel is thin, and highly carbonated. Decent, if not exceptional.

Bottle 75cl.
Unclear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, fruity, overriped fruit, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20090516]

There’s a nicely spicy quality to the aroma and there’s a bit of peppery alcohol sparkling through that blends well. Moderately sweet from the malt. Foamy mouthfeel from the carbonation.

Pours a deep amber color with a nice head forming on top. The aroma is of sweet caramel malts, some yeast, dark fruits like figs and raisins, and most notably was the spice and citrus characteristics. The flavor followed suit and was very nice. Tasted of citrus and spice up front leading to the deeper flavors of raisins and figs. The finish was rather sweet and caramelly.

From bottle@Københavnske Øldage 2009. Clear mahoghny colored body with a ring of foam clinging to the glass. Complex and inviting aroma of Belgo-yeast, sweet citrus, refined malts and perfume. Taste is sweet fruity with a light acidic touch. Some toasted malts and yeast is noticable. A mild bitterness in the backbone. Alcohol is very well masked. Lively mouthfeel. A relatively short, dryish finish with fruity hops and mild spices. I like a lot.

750ml bottle–pours a foamy to rocky tan thin head that retains nicely for a high alcohol beer and brown with deep red color. Aroma is medium malt-chocoalte, musty/yeast, medium fruit, secondary spice hops. Taste is medium malt-chocolate/brown sugar, spice hops, medium fruit, sweet with dryish finish. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out.

750 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a dark copper color with a medium sized creamy beige head. The aroma is candy sugar, dark fruits, caramel malts, and Belgian yeast. The flavor is caramel malt, honey, dark fruits, and Belgian yeast. When this was cold the carbonation was prickly and a tad distracting. As this warmed, it smoothed a bit allowing some brown sugar and spices to come out. I liked this enough now and look forward to revisiting in a couple of months.
