Pours a dark copper color with a medium sized creamy beige head. The aroma is candy sugar, dark fruits, caramel malts, and Belgian yeast. The flavor is caramel malt, honey, dark fruits, and Belgian yeast. When this was cold the carbonation was prickly and a tad distracting. As this warmed, it smoothed a bit allowing some brown sugar and spices to come out. I liked this enough now and look forward to revisiting in a couple of months. smith4498 (919), Miami, Florida, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Dark brown color pours opaque and produces a fluffy light brown head. Hearty lacing surrounds the sides of the glass. Sweet, dark, fruit aroma containing raisins, cherries and even a hint of raspberry. Filling and enjoyable, high carbonation that’s prickly. The Belgian yeast characteristic really pulls through in the flavor combining the rich dark fruits with a sweet, dense malt backbone. Nicely crafted, very enjoyable.
