Aroma is a lot of dark malts and some spices. Flavor is sweet and fruity with a good amount of raisins, citrus, chocolate, yeast, and spice. Some hops near the end. Very fizzy. Rings of lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma with dark malts and fruits. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, raisins and citrus. Spiced hops are present, as is the alcohol. The finish is rich and fruity with a malt and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good all around. Gethinbeer (1006), Nova Scotia, Canada

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Dark brown color pours opaque and produces a fluffy light brown head. Hearty lacing surrounds the sides of the glass. Sweet, dark, fruit aroma containing raisins, cherries and even a hint of raspberry. Filling and enjoyable, high carbonation that’s prickly. The Belgian yeast characteristic really pulls through in the flavor combining the rich dark fruits with a sweet, dense malt backbone. Nicely crafted, very enjoyable. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2009 750ml caged and corked bottle served in a tulip. Hazy brown pour with a thick head of tight, tan foam that lingered for a bit. A small amount of slippery lacing was left around the glass. The aroma included raisin, caramel, orange peel, spicy yeast, and also an underlying note of chocolate. The flavor had dark fruits, raisin, caramelized sugar, orange, red apple skins, and a hint of chocolate and honey. Medium to full-bodied with a moderate amount of prickly carbonation. Complex and quite drinkable. Nice beer. yngwie (5051), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Bottle, 75cl corked, shared by the brewer. It’s a semi-clear, copper-colored beer with a nice-looking off-white to beige head. Dried fruits, a hint of roasted malts, citrusy hops and a tiny note of alcohol on the nose. Sweet, caramel flavor with dried fruits and a nice citrusy hoppyness. Good bitterness too. Medium body, nicely carbonated. Pleasant bitterness in the finish. I prefer Local 1 to this one, but it’s still a really good beer, dangerously easy to drink, and quite tasteful too. (090515)
