May 23, 2009 Botella, Pale deep amber colour . Quite spiced an aroma with fruits. Spiced fruity bit sweet pleasant bitter flavour. Spiced dry bit fruity finish.

May 21, 2009 (bottle from OSLO) Pours dark brown with a large light tan head that settles to a medium cap with a good amount of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral honey, pepper, and orange peel that becomes much stronger as this warms up a bit. There’s a bit of bread in the smell too, but it’s not nearly as bombastic as some Belgian beers can be. Further warming reveals some carrot cake, dark fruits, and candi sugar along with a faint hint of booze. The taste is quite sweet with ample candi sugar, caramel, dark fruits, that switches to a dry and yeasty finish with just a faint hint of bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium with very lively carbonation which was a bit distracting. All in all, another solid Belgian from Brooklyn. Thanks Al!

May 21, 2009 Bottle 75 cl. Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Intense aroma of overripe fruit and yeast. Medium body, heavy carbonation and lots of overripe fruit being the dominant flavour combined with some brown sugar. Rather alcoholic finish. 160509

Pours lightly hazy redish amber. A smll creamy, off-white film haed. Sweet aroma, some strawberries, winegums, yeast, raisins, vanilla, wheat, coriander and slight hops. High, prickly carbonation, a bit weak mouthfeel. Flavour is rather sweet, pretty malty, some biscuit, a touch of vanilla, plums and Belgian sugar. Okay, but Local 1 was much better.
