| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Pours a dark brown with good head/lacing with fruity aroma. Way too dry, completely kills any sweetness from the orange/honey notes. I think this beer really missed the mark. mikalooch (167), , New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin but bubbly white head. Very mild but nice aroma, a bit a yeast, cherries, honey, very sweet. Flavor starts out sweet with dark fruits and citrus adding a touch of bitterness. Honey with a floral touch comes out as it goes down and then finishes dry with a touch of cherry tartness. Fairly smooth on the palate but well carbonated, alcohol is almost non existent. Overall very good. rosenbergh (892), Helsinki, Finland

Dark brown colour with small tan head.
Weak sugary aroma with yeast and mild alcohol notes.
Sweet sugary, mild hoppy and smooth flavour with some alcohol warmth but no alcohol taste. Smooth and balanced brew with lively carbonation. Not extremely complex though. radiomgb (1977), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

Mouthfeel was very smooth. Oh, and tasty too. LadySusan (485), Ste-Therese, Quebec, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 26, 2009 In short: A very sweet, very yeasty, very earthy and very fruity Belgian dark ale. An ok heavy beer but a whole bottle is tiresome.
How: Bottle 750ml, consumed when about 8 months of age.
The look: Clear dark amber body topped by a small beige head
In long: The strong nose is very yeasty and very herbal. Taste is very sweet (too sweet), very earthy, lots of dried dark fruits, fresh dark fruits, lots of brown sugar, moderate spicy notes, caramel, honey, some cacao powder, ripe banana peels. Carbonation and mouthfeel is truly Belgian. With every sip I couldn’t find anything wrong with the beer yet I was eager for my bottle to be over and I don’t think I’ll buy another bottle ever again. It’s just that type of well put together sweet Belgian dark ale that is just like too many other sweet Belgian dark ale. I much prefer its next door neighbour, Local 1.
