750ml bottle. Aroma of dark fruits, rum, vanilla and maybe a touch of orange. Lots of carbonation gives the beer a full mouthfeel. Taste is dark fruits, rum, vanilla, chocolate. Well attenuated and easy to drink for such a large beer. Well done Brooklyn.

Plovmand, thanks for sharing. Bottle. Hazy brown body, with a medium off-white head. Aroma is dark fruits, raisins and dates, caramel. Flavor is also sweet from the dark fruits, but also brown sugar and notes of alcohol.

Good god this is fantastic. Pours a nice amber with an amazing, almost sweet taste. This is one of my new favorites. Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Maybe i enjoyed it so much because someone bought it for me, i’m a college student after all.

Bottle. Brown body with a steady light tan head. Very fruity aroma of dates, raisins, orange peel and sweet caramel. The flavour is complex. Dark fruit like prunes, sweet raisins, caramel, warming alcohol, light spices and oranges. Very nice Dubbel.

750ml. Pours copper brown with some red in there with an absolutely huge frothy tan and kind of light orange head. Very alive. Aroma is boozy with sweet malts, spice, dough, and lighter roast. Fruit is a big part of aroma also, as well as flavor. Flavor further includes yeasty feel, dry throughout and brown sugar. Spicy quick finish....Its Christmas and I’m Happy--happy with the beer and the day.

From the 750 (does it come any other way?). Pours to a deep mahogany--thanks to previous reviewer, vyvvy, this color description is spot on--with small white head which dissipates rather quickly. As opposed to the Local 1, this is slightly more bready, with less candied fruit on the nose, though it’s definitely still a present flavor. Maybe a slight bit of wet leaf smell as well. This beer isn’t nearly as heavy as it might seem. Rather. it’s light, with initial sweetness this quickly dovetails into a refreshingly crisp finish. I’m first reviewing this near Christmas, but this is a beer whose colors truly shine in summer. As the website suggests, it’s a phenomenal complement to lighter vegetables, and would stand up well to citrus. My adoration for my home borough’s best-known beer grows with the Local 2. A must try.

Pours murky mahogany with a small tan head. The aroma has caramel, sourdough, sharp citrus, rich sweetness and earthy Belgian yeast. It has a medium body that seems crisp, but that is probably due to the excessive carbonation. The aroma has some band aid, phenolic spice and alcohol heat that appears and overshadows a lot of the aspects noted on the aroma. The finish has some anise & citrus. Decent beer, but I’d hoped for more.
