| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 10, 2008 Poured from the bottle an amber color with a nice tan head. The aroma was spicy and malty with some bread like characteristics. On taste it instantly hits you as a sweet beer. It seems a bit light in body for what the aroma was. A lot of malt flavors in the body and it finished slick. I don’t this is an Oktoberfest I would hunt down again, though it wasn’t bad and I wouldn’t turn it down if offered. 17thfloor (1507), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 10, 2008 Pours a clear very dark red/amber with a medium fluffy frothy beige head. Strong slightly toasted malt aroma, a bit bready, and some floral hops. Smells more English than German. Sugary sweet malt with not much more character than a cardboard box. Burnt caramel, biscuity, bitter floral hops, light grassiness... not very German. Lighter body, faint stickiness, soft larger bubbled carbonation. Long biscuit aftertaste.... branspra (232), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours average head with a tawny color. Hints of caramel and brown sugar, with a lively carbonation. A good session beer for celebrating the season. Underhook (162), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Slight malty aroma. Pours deep bronze with a huge, fluffy head that leaves a solid lacing down the glass. Looks lively, carbonated. Taste is malty, not as much bready yeastiness as some of the German counterparts, some sweet caramel there. A little bit too carbonated, aside from that the palate is adequate. Good marzen, but there are better out there. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
