Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

12oz bottle served in a lager glass. Pours dark amber with a quickly diminishing off-white head. Lots of caramel and biscuit on the nose. Very malty with some spicy hops to balance. Much more body than a standard fest beer. Not quite true to style, a little over the top, but still very good.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear brownish/gold with a small disappearing off white head. Strong malts in the nose with a hint of hopiness. Malts in the taste. Medium body with fairly fizzy carbonation.

Poured a reddish brown with a smaller white head. Aroma was not very strong, but mostly of spices and malts. Taste was good with plenty of spice. Cinnamon, oranges, nuts, and grain were all present. Finish was smooth.

Bottle. Pours a copper color with a one finger white head. Aroma is malty and bready with some caramel. Taste is a little sweet and malty. Has a little bite to it in the end. Decent beer.

Poured from a 12oz bottle and served in a dimpled mug. This beer poured a clear copper with a thin head of fine, tan bubbles that quickly receded. No lace. The aroma of the beer was made up of mild caramel, bread dough, toasted grains, and some light hops. The flavor included toasted bread, caramel, and a minimal hop bite. Grainy and semi-sweet. The mouthfeel was light to medium-bodied and somewhat watery. Mild carbonation. Light and drinkable body with a flavor that was fairly mundane.

Decided to pick one of these up to try while I brewed my own Oktoberfest. 12oz bottle pours a clear, copper, orange with a thin, white, fizzy head. Nice aroma of breads, grains, grass, oranges, toast and just a little nutty. Flavor is nice, oranges, flowers, butter and butterscotch, nuts, slightly toasted grain and corn. Crisp, clean and a little watery on the finish. This is a session beer for sure, certainly not a revelation but drinkable and seasonal.

I thought this brew was stunning with the complexity it displayed. Malty, bready, a little nutty. Sweet, and bitter in balance. I say well done.

12 oz bottle poured deep brown with some red highlights and a nice fluffy off white head. Breadlike aroma and nice semi-sweet taste. Some chocolate notes in there. Average marzen style.
