Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Bottle from Tuckers Maltings. Pours a dark orange with a light tan head. Aroma is lightly sweet and grainy with a note of dark toasty bread. Taste is husky grain, bready dough, and crystal malt. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate, lively carbonation.

Bottle from Utobeer. Plain malty beer with a rocky, slightly yellow head over an orange-brown body. Fugacious foam. Bready malts to the nose followed by a taste of herbs, wet forest and suggestions of earthy malts. Rather strange flavour and a bit vapid (Tromsø, 10.05.2008).

Bottle sample at a beer festival in kibbutz Ma’abarot, May ’08. Clear amber with a medium, quickly-diminishing beige head. Aroma of toasted malt, some caramel, light fruitiness and hoppy hints. Sweetish malty flavor, rather toasty, with nutty hints and a pretty bitter finish with nice hoppiness. Medium-bodied. Not bad.

[bottle] shared by Ebaugh. Pours dark copper with a thin off white head. Raisins and other dark fruits in the aroma with no hint of hops. Flavor is the same, and a little tart. Medium body with a good amount of carbonation.

Shared by Akevitt. Orange color. Little carbonation. Light malt flavor and standard lager aroma. Some bread flavor as well. Too light, even for the style.

[Bottle, thanks BDR and Akevitt] Pours reddish-amber with a small head. The aroma was lacking a bit with just a fair amount of malt present. The taste is grainy and what I would describe as sort of musty maltiness. Medium mouthfeel with a somewhat short finish. A fairly forgettable beer that didn’t set itself apart in any way.
