Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Draught pint at Redbones on 10/11/07
Dark copper-orange with a small off-white head that fades quickly to cover. Clear, with no lacing.
Dosent smell right from the get-go, though it’s not infected. Just extremely bready, lightly vegetal and dominated by toasted malt sour-astringency. Sweet, underattenuated caramel sugars trickle upwards further repulsing the senses, as overripe peaches and apricots lay heavily overtop. There are certainly oktoberfest aromas here, but they are all magnified to the point where each is unbearable and as a whole, it’s just a messy, sweet and sour aroma. Medium strength of aroma, moderate brewing flaws, no alcohol noted.
Sticky caramel sweetens the palate, as an overload of peaches and apricots is felt. Watery and slightly metallic, it finishes way too toasty and quite astringent. Odd vegetal notes are notable as well. Low carbonation, too sweet up front (worty), too astringent on the end (toasty). Not infected, just dosent seem like the batch came out well. Seems very unfinished. Will try again at some point.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep burnt orange/amber with a small slightly off white head. Big spicey malt aroma some nut and bread crust aromas mixed in there as well. Weak flavor compared to the aroma with a sligh nut falvor over a medium body. Finishes with a slightly lingering bitter finish.

bottle poured a hazy orange amber in color with a thin layer of head on the beer and light slow carbination. smell is malt, candy sugar, yeast, and slight hops. taste is on the thin side, nice malted flavor, and finishes with a grain and bitter. must admit this is not my favorite style but it is October and i have to have a few.

The pour was a brownish copper with a thin white frothy head. The aroma had caramel, grain, mild grassy hops. The flavor was sweet, malty, still grainy/oatmeal, caramel. The palate was average, an ok beer.

Bottle: Pours a fantastic fiery amber with a dense, off-white head that leaves ample lacing. Bready malts in the nose resemble straw, dough, soft caramel and white sugar. Full, creamy mouthfeel is nice. Another blast of sweet malt is met with a subtle balance of grassy hops to keep the body in check. This is really nice from start to finish and is one of my favorites from the season.

Bottle from The Party Source. Dark orange color, sweet aroma, good head retention and lacing, good balance of hops and toasted malt, bitter finish. At first the flavor seems too light and obscured by carbonation but improves as the glass warms somewhat.

Poured a dark reddish orange with a foamy white head. Has hints of malt, floral, some hops, and spices. Finished bland on the palate. Carbonation is a little weak, and alcohol is prevalent.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep orange-ruby with an average size somewhat-lasting off-white head. Aroma: Hmmm, that’s a bit weird, along with the sweet malt, faint floral hops and fruit I’m getting a hint of tomato juice...not crazy about that. Flavour of caramel malt, some mild toastiness, a hint of fruit and a mild bitter finish -- meh. Average bodied. Just O.K., my least favourite Brooklyn beer I’ve had.
