Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

In the bottle from Inari Wines. Pours a chestnut auburn color with a beige medium thick head. Toasted almond aroma. This does not taste like any festbier that I’ve ever had. This is fizzy, watery and has a burning palate. There’s a lingering mild tartness at the end, but you don’t really want anything to linger about this beer. Perhaps one of the worst Oktoberfest beers made in the US?

On tap at Brooklyn brew pub in the Newark airport. Pours dark amber with small thick head. Malty roasted aroma. Malty taste with a nice kick of hops. Crisp refreshing aftertaste with a hint of the roasted malt at the very end. Very tasty marzen.

I liked this, and did not think I would. Dark malty, roasty flavors dominate. Did not quite see the brisk hop bitterness, but it doesn’t matter. A nice drinkable marzen.

Pours a deep translucent amber with a creamy/bubbly off white head that left nice lacing. Aroma of molasses, some dark fruits, malty sweetness, hints of spice and some caramel. Flavor is a lot of malty sweetness, nuts, molasses, caramel, toasted malts, grains and hints of some hop spiciness.

deep copper color with a small white head. Nice malty aroma with a touch of spiceness. Suble malth flavor over powered by hop bitterness and a almost astringent flavor. Very thin mouth feel and highly carbonated. Very dissapointing.

Pours a brown/copper color with just a little head. The aroma is light, sweet, and malty. The flavor is malty, with a little bit of bitterness and breadiness. I thought this was pretty good, but it’s nothing spectacular.

12 oz Bottle-poured a clear amber color w/a slight head but a lot of carbonation. Good lacing which lasted thru the brew. Slight malt aroma. Another standard Amber, bread dough, toffee, roasted malt...did have some good carbonation. Easy to drink, enjoyable, but nothing to write home about.

Very rich and hearty Oktoberfest. Sometimes a smoky or roasted note comes alive in the finish. Some bitterness which only adds to the overall presence. Very enjoyable.
