Aroma is sweetly malty with a hint of pumpkin. Mouthfeel a little loose and watery. Some prickliness. Some sloppy rings of lace. Flavor is fairly weak pumpkin/vanilla/brown sugar malt with a bit too much biting bitterness. I’d pass on this as on Oktoberfest. Brooklyn’s Vienna is great so you’d think this would be pretty close. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 6, 2006 Clear rusty red and orange colored body. Nose full of biscuit malts and yeast esters, fruity esters even. Starchy aroma. Sweet and tangy flavors initially, with some strawberry and hay flavors noticed, zero bitterness up front, only a slight amount on the back. Bready and musty at times. Tastes fairly good. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2006 Pours deep orange with nearly white head. The aroma is very malty and sweet with hints of hops and distinct aroma of beer yeast. The flavor is malty, but has an very unexpected heavy roasted flavor - like burnt toast. The beer is also a little sweet. The beer finishes very full-bodied with some hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is quite thick - a little too thick, maybe. leaparsons (4748), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

Aromas are toffee and weetabix malts with lemon, yeast and chocolate. Flavours are malty with some citrus notes. Chocolate and fruit with yeast and spices. Decent. michael-pollack (2720), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 26, 2006 12oz. Bottle: Aroma of bread, dough, malts, blueberries, and a little spice. Faint aroma. Poured reddish copper in color. Medium, creamy, tan head lasted. Clear and sparkling. Flavor is not sweet. Medium bitter. Tastes like whole wheat bread. Hints of caramel and nuts. Crisp, bitter finish is short in duration. Medium body. Average carbonation. Overall, it’s drinkable but not something I would have more than one of, or very often. Aroma is thick with a hoppy aspect and an earthy touch. Flavor has upfront earthy maltyness. There’s strong suggestions of seeds and rye bread. Touch of pepperyness and a nice mild bitterness in the finish. Not bad. swoopjones (1919), Buffalo, New York, USA

Not the best Oktoberfest I’ve had this month but one of the better. Roasted malt flavor with nice amberish color. Easy drinking with not too much to worry about the next day after a heavy session
