Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Draught. Had this on at the Parlour in Sharpsburg with Ryan and radio star Kevin Battle after Sidney Crosby’s first game in the Burgh. Lots of malt, dough, bread, and sweetness in this beer. I like it. It has a litle more hop to it than lots that I have had, but to me, that’s a good thing. Nice full carb and good medium body. I like it.

slight malt and bread aroma. nothing usually catches my attention with oktoberfest beers but the hops are more lively in this than some. this may not be true to style though. very thin and light bodied. but decent anyway.

Poured amber with a nice tan head. Pretty good head retention. Aroma was very sweet with courant, caramel and autumn fruits. Taste was sweet yet pleasant. Nice maltiness with some biscuit in that flavor. Solid but nothing memorable.

A little dissapointed in this one. I usually am impressed with Brooklyn’s beers, but this one seems bland. The aroma intices with maltiness, lager yeast and a touch of hops, but the flavor doesn’t follow through. Better than some, but not up to Brooklyn’s standards.

12oz. bottle. Dark amber/copper color with a medium sized off white head. Bready, malty aroma with a touch of caramel. Flavor was mostly biscuity malt with some caramel and very little else. Kind of thin, but easy drinking.

Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Amber color with little head. Light nose of biscuity malt, light caramel sweetness, and some perceptible bitterness. Flavor is slightly sweet malt with a decidedly crisp, bitter finish. Fairly lager-like body, though a bit light; this could have been heavier and smoother. A really drinkable beer from a dependable brewer-- I might not get an all-star, but I certainly won’t be let down. Glad it didn’t taste like an over-spiced pumpkin ale.
