Decent pour. Aroma is interesting, like gravy. That sounds more unpleasant than it is, but the aroma is not the highest feature. Flavor is malty and hoppy. Palate is nice.

A decent beer but it’s certainly not "full-bodied" as the commercial description proclaims. Pours a nice dark copper color with very little head. Smells and tastes sweet and malty, but thin. Finishes quickly and without fanfare.

Bottle. Dark ambery pour. Malty caramel aroma, decent enough. More malty caramel aroma, kinda thin, maybe a little bready and a bit acidic. Not too terrible.

Dark amber pour, with a quickly dissipating white head. Malty aroma with some caramal. Lightly carbonated, borderline medium bodied. Malty taste with some dough and raisin or plum. Hint of vegatable in the finish. Not such a great marzen unfortunately. Probably much better on tap as it would add some creaminess and hopefully carbonation.

Pours dark brown with a large light head. Malty aroma--brown sugar, caramel. Flavor is more of the same. Not much to it, but a great drinkin’ beer.

bottled, slight caramel aroma and not much head. copper color and full bodied. the finish is kind of disappointing, otherwise decent.

Deep brown pour with medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, some toffee and brown sugar. Tastes caramel malty, with finishing toffee, brown sugar, and a hop presence.

12 oz. bottle into tulip glass. Thanks to Jeff Connor for shipping this to the Midwest. Very malty aroma right out of the bottle, reminiscent of banana bread and lemon frosting on white cake, but a little skunky and yeasty (in a not-so-good way). Looks: nothing wrong here. Glowing red-orange transluscence with just enough haze to obscure transparancy; visible carbonation; taupe head was moderate, diminishing to a dusting and tracing around the edge. Lacing and "racing" are superb. Acrid flavor brings down the score; the hops are metalic and flat, buffered in a natty acidity that attacks the middle of the tounge, not the glands underneath and on the side. It feels wrong, like noticing a hot girl is only 16. This is the equivalent of a quartet composed of three sopranos (one of whom, named Acridity, is off key) and a tenor: no bass grounding it. It’s not that it’s simple and uncomplex, but everything seems like it’s on the same register. The tastes of currant, raisin, and hay blend really well on the long finish, but initially they can’t break through the dominant acridity. On the mouthfeel, it’s a tad watery, but the carbonation is at a nice level, and as I said, the finish was comendable. If it were a bit smoother, this would be very enjoyable.
