Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Bottle. Big grainy nutty earthy caramel nose, pale malts unable to hide. Pale amber pour with a fizzy, loud beige head. Taste is light and airy, grassy citrus covered over by stalish caramel and nuts with earth on the side. Crisp and crackery but tongue numbs at the middle and end and the dark, dry aftertaste is more than a little dirty. Medium body, medium pleasure.

Definite copper color with an off white head. The head makes a valiant attempt at forming lace and clings ever so slightly. On nose there is a bread scent. On mouth it is what I consider medium bodied, transitioning me from summer to the ’heavy’ winter nights ahead. The flavors seem ever so slightly muted. On finish you are left with a hoppy mashed potato feel.

Medium bodied, with lots of sweet caramel malt and bread/ yam flavors above light hops through a smooth medium hop finish.

Aroma of bread and lightly sweet malts. Appearance is copper with creamy, carbonated head. Flavor is very understated; some bready flavors and sweet potato, but very underwhelming. Palate was creamy. Very average indeed.

Bottle. Clear and amber with a foamy white head. Somewhat sweet aroma with a little bread and graininess. Flavor is pretty gentle, with a moderately sweet malt profile followed by a little bitterness. Medium body. Not bad, nothing too exciting. Good drinking beer.

Eh, I’ve had better oktoberfests. This one has a decent malt profile, but the weedy hops kind of steal the show. Decent, but not great. Get Ayinger, or Sam Adams if you’re on a budget.

Bottle as shown. Pours a copper amber with a medium creamy beige head that lasts awhile. The aroma is a bready malt with caramel and spice. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. Medium mouthfeel with a bitter malt with caramel and grain. Easy to drink, a good Marzen from Brooklyn.

Dark orangeish red color with a nice head. Sweet malty aroma with some hints of caramelized malts. Taste is upfront sweet malts that edge on bitter. Sweet flavors are most pronounced though. Fairly well done with a decent substance.
