Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Pilsner is a refreshing golden lager beer, brewed in the style favored by New York’s pre-Prohibition brewers. In the 1840’s, the pilsner style emerged from central Europe to become the world’s most popular style of beer. Like its ancesters, Brooklyn Pilsner is traditionally brewed from the finest European two-row barley malts. German-grown Perle and Hallertauer hops provide a crisp, snappy bitterness and fresh, floral aroma. We ferment Brooklyn Pilsner at cool temperatures and then give it a long, gentle maturation (lagering), which results in a beer of superior complexity and smoothness.

Poured from the bottle a slightly cloudy golden color. Poofy head, great coating on the glass. Taste is smooth and crisp... finish is clean with a nice and balanced hop bitterness. Not overwhelming but pleasant. Bitterness is enhanced with food. A nice drinkable beer.

Gold color quickly dissapating head. Aroma has floral and fruity hops with grain and sweet malt. Grain and malt more prominent upon taste. Ear wax at the finish. Thin.

bottle poured a dark golden in color with lighter carbination on the pour and a thin head of white frothy foam on the surface. aroma has metallic malt, light hops, and a little spice and yeast. mouth feel is thicker than expected but still on the lighter side with a decent frothy texture. flavor is fairly crisp with malt and better hops than the nose. actually a decent pilsner, i prefer them with a little more hops but this is decent none the less. BB. date is feb. ’08 so we are closing in on that in a few days so i would imagine a fresher bottle having a little more to offer.

Pours a boring gold with a boring white head. Smells very boring, kinda like dirty pocket change mixed with cat urine, then watered down. The taste is decent, but rather boring. A blend of herbal and crisp hops match the lager smoothness and malt well, but seem pretty boring to me. The mouthfeel is, well boring. Overall, not a terrible brew, just BORING.

nice stuff, surprisingly enough. deep gold, clear beer with small but sticky head. aroma not huge, but dough, flowers, white bread, dried apple. flavour is impressive - clean bready malt and expanding herbal hops - assertively bitter but a good slow mouthfilling bitterness. clean and very well made. if only it had a bigger aroma - but i’m sure fresher bottles (this is 6 months from BB) would be better for that. this is a very unamerican brewery - they’re into doing classic styles subtly and carefully.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear straw yellow with a rocky white head that dissipates quickly. Good lacing. Citrusy and musky nose. Taste is slight sweet malt, a touch of corn and caramel with a light bitter end. An earthy hop aftertaste linger for a bit along with a mild sweetness. Pretty decent.

On tap at the Magician NYC. Excellent full bodied pilsner. Urquell cowers in comparison! Not my favorite style of beer, but for a pilsner, this one’s great!1!1

One of the more hoppy pilsners that I can remember having. Makes for a nice pint but lacks something on the back end. This is one where I can have more than one but not many. Similar, but not as good as, to Johnny Rawton Pils from Dogfish.
