Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Pilsner is a refreshing golden lager beer, brewed in the style favored by New York’s pre-Prohibition brewers. In the 1840’s, the pilsner style emerged from central Europe to become the world’s most popular style of beer. Like its ancesters, Brooklyn Pilsner is traditionally brewed from the finest European two-row barley malts. German-grown Perle and Hallertauer hops provide a crisp, snappy bitterness and fresh, floral aroma. We ferment Brooklyn Pilsner at cool temperatures and then give it a long, gentle maturation (lagering), which results in a beer of superior complexity and smoothness.

12 oz. bottle my mother-in-law brought back from NY - Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a one finger thick white head. Light lacing. Aroma is spicey hops. Flavor is light cereal grain and hops. A little more bitter than your typical Pils. Light to medium body. Worth a try.

Fruit malt aroma similar to a pale ale. slight amount of hops is noticeable. Clear golden color with a large white head. good lacing. Starts with a little malt dryness and finishes mildly bitter.

Tap. I enjoyed serving this at a party last night as its slightly hoppy nature was perfect with heavy Southern food and lighter alternate to the porter we had on tap. The grain’s slight bitterness and good smell made it popular with the Bud crowd and I liked to constant great aroma.

Golden yellow in color with a thick white head. Grainy in smell and flavor. Nice balancing bitterness. Could use a little more bitterness though for a pilsner. Not at all bad though.

It was almost completely clear and looked like it could have been water. Nothing outstanding about it, I would not waste my time with it again.

Bottle. Pours with a nice, one finger, medium lived head, nice lacing. The color is a very appetizing deep gold to amber with a little haze and lots of lively bubbles. Definitely darker than any pilsner I’ve seen. Smell is lively, fresh and spicy with light hop notes, and big bright floral scents. The taste is much hoppier and bitter than I expected. To me it was more similar to a pale ale than pilsner, but with the nice light texture one would expect from a pilsner. Overall, it’s a very complex beer for the style, but still smooth, refreshing and appetizing. Nicely Balanced. Of my five pilsner sampler this way actually my favorite.

Marketed to me as "Waterzooi Pilsner" at the Waterzooi Belgian Bistro in Garden City. This poured almost completely clear in comparison to the others that we were drinking that night. Very light and drinkable wit just a slight bit of hops to finish it off in a very balanced way. In general i would say that there are better things at Waterzooi to try.
