Nice balancing bitterness. Could use a little more bitterness though for a pilsner. Not at all bad though. MaliMisho (215), East Meadow, New York, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Updated: Oct 10, 2007Bottle. Pours with a nice, one finger, medium lived head, nice lacing. The color is a very appetizing deep gold to amber with a little haze and lots of lively bubbles. Definitely darker than any pilsner I’ve seen. Smell is lively, fresh and spicy with light hop notes, and big bright floral scents. The taste is much hoppier and bitter than I expected. To me it was more similar to a pale ale than pilsner, but with the nice light texture one would expect from a pilsner. Overall, it’s a very complex beer for the style, but still smooth, refreshing and appetizing. Nicely Balanced. Of my five pilsner sampler this way actually my favorite. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Marketed to me as "Waterzooi Pilsner" at the Waterzooi Belgian Bistro in Garden City. This poured almost completely clear in comparison to the others that we were drinking that night. Very light and drinkable wit just a slight bit of hops to finish it off in a very balanced way. In general i would say that there are better things at Waterzooi to try. illinismitty (1799), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 26, 2007 Bottle from Corridor in Laurel MD. Pour pale golden with a nice sudsy white head. Sweet bready aroma, with a touch of european hops. Light bodied with a thin texture. Initial flavor of biscuit and pilsner malt that quickly transitions to a strong herbal hop middle. Finishes dry with a long lingering grassy bitterness. Hoppy for a pilsner, but a bit disconnected for me. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2007 Pours a clouded straw gold with minimal white head. Nose is slightly citric - subdued oranges I say. Flavor is tangy with a tart touch. Bitter character on the end as well. Feel has a good bit of bubble on the tongue. Definitely drinkable. Though I have to say that this seems to have just a wee bit of flavor character that mimicks saison to me. Not a typical pilsner, but pretty good. I could go for more than one of these easily.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 16, 2007 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, very bubbly, yellow-gold with an average size diminishing white head. First thing that hits me in the aroma is tomato juice, which is odd, followed by grain and mild grassy hops. Flavour’s equal parts caramel malt and grassy hops along with some grain and an average bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty decent as far as Pilsners go but it doesn’t do much for me.
