Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Pilsner is a refreshing golden lager beer, brewed in the style favored by New York’s pre-Prohibition brewers. In the 1840’s, the pilsner style emerged from central Europe to become the world’s most popular style of beer. Like its ancesters, Brooklyn Pilsner is traditionally brewed from the finest European two-row barley malts. German-grown Perle and Hallertauer hops provide a crisp, snappy bitterness and fresh, floral aroma. We ferment Brooklyn Pilsner at cool temperatures and then give it a long, gentle maturation (lagering), which results in a beer of superior complexity and smoothness.

A Sim rate (draft at 1020 in Kristin’s old ’hood): Malty, hoppy aroma. Smells very fresh. It’s pils in the proper German sense of the word. Tastes similar to the aroma, but more dominated by malt. Nice, but not my favourite style.

[i9Bottle at the Rover, Göteborg, Sweden. Clear golden with a white head. Grainy and bready malt aroma with grassy and herbal hops. Ligth to medium bodied with decent mouthfeel. Good balance with a bitter finish.

Pours a surprisingly substantial hazy soft gold. The head is thin and white. The aroma is slightly sweet, straw and grassy hints, kind of thin. The flavor shows rice, straw, light grassy hops, waxy bitterness. The palate was thin.

Miller Lite labels say "True pilsner taste," not to bitch like a beer snob about major brand beers but I shall. "True pilsner taste" sounds like "real cheese flavor"; it may be made out of old Chinese newspapers, but the flavor is certainly real! Well, Brooklyn’s attempt at the classic pilsner style is a winner! Nice golden color with a white head and a lively carbonation; low hop character but everything about this beer works in harmony; reminds me of beer you can buy a keg of down the shore, while not disappointing anyone!

I don’t like Pilsners...and I can’t avoid letting that infiltrate my ranking. Yes, it has more taste than your average pilsner...it’s more strongly bitter. I should have known better to include a Pilsner in my mixed Brooklyn sixer. Hope their other offerings are better.

12oz bottle. Good Pilsner style. Right amount of bitterness, great flavor. I can taste the hops. Would drink again.

A very good pilsener. Despite all the macrobrew crap that I’m subjected to on a daily basis, a good Pils still really hits the spot for me. Had this one out by the pool.
