Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Pilsner is a refreshing golden lager beer, brewed in the style favored by New York’s pre-Prohibition brewers. In the 1840’s, the pilsner style emerged from central Europe to become the world’s most popular style of beer. Like its ancesters, Brooklyn Pilsner is traditionally brewed from the finest European two-row barley malts. German-grown Perle and Hallertauer hops provide a crisp, snappy bitterness and fresh, floral aroma. We ferment Brooklyn Pilsner at cool temperatures and then give it a long, gentle maturation (lagering), which results in a beer of superior complexity and smoothness.

A very good pilsener. Despite all the macrobrew crap that I’m subjected to on a daily basis, a good Pils still really hits the spot for me. Had this one out by the pool.

Has got the standard feeling of a Pilsner, you can taste the European hops and malts. slight honey aroma. Clean and crisp. This is one to try.

On tap at the Brooklyn Beer bar at newark airport . Ludicrously expensive for a pint. Pale, watery and very close to miller lite in just about every angle. Total crap.

On tap @ Mr Goodbar Buffalo NY. Average brew here. Easy drinking pils but really nothing to write home about. How do you make maybe the best American Belgian (Local 1) and also this average attempt at a pils

Pretty refreshing beer. A bit hoppy with a bit of malt and a little citrus.

Cobber colour with a nice white head. The aroma is a bit fruity with a nice noble hop note. The flavour is crisp with a nice level of bitetr hops. Dry finish.

Pours a dull gold with a beautiful fluffy head with big bubbles and some lace. Amazing aroma - white wine, ginger. Taste is somewhat similar to the aroma, except honey-sweet malt and hops make an appearance. Nice bittering and a decent lingering aftertaste. Slightly peppery. Thin body with slightly lower than ideal carbonation. Overall, this is a pleasant surprise for a pilsner. Defiinitely more hops and more character in general than I was expecting from this style. Not bad!

Another one from Brooky. Lemony or citrus aroma that is clean and fresh. Perhaps a little corny or sweet too. Looks like any other pale yellow american lager. A little more personality than I care for in a beer. Has a meddium bitterness building on the back of the palate. Medium low carbonation. Yes, has that slightly oppressive pilsner personality. IMHO not as good as Bavik Premium Pils but on par with the likes of Lancaster Gold Star Pilsner as far as enjoyability goes. Finish is quite persistant with a cleaner than imp stout or pale ale medicinal medium bitterness on the back of the throat. Over all, not bad but probably will not purchase again.
