Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Pilsner is a refreshing golden lager beer, brewed in the style favored by New York’s pre-Prohibition brewers. In the 1840’s, the pilsner style emerged from central Europe to become the world’s most popular style of beer. Like its ancesters, Brooklyn Pilsner is traditionally brewed from the finest European two-row barley malts. German-grown Perle and Hallertauer hops provide a crisp, snappy bitterness and fresh, floral aroma. We ferment Brooklyn Pilsner at cool temperatures and then give it a long, gentle maturation (lagering), which results in a beer of superior complexity and smoothness.

Bottle with best before April, 2006...having on May 21st. Pours to a slightly hazy straw color, with thin white head and decent lacing. Floral aroma carries over to the taste, which is bitter. Dry finish. Not bad for a pilsner, but not my favorite.

On tap at 6 feet under. This one fit the mood on a warm night with a burger. Other than that it was not that exciting. A little more full bodied than most pilsners but it’s still a pilsner. You are not going to get much variation with these guys.

Pours golden and effervescent with a nice foamy off-white head. Aroma is nice and clean. Mild bready notes with some toasted maltiness with a touch of herbal hoppiness, but no one element is overwhelming. Taste is toasted malts and firm noble hops, herbal bitterness, cookie, bready malts. Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied, just enough maltiness to provide some body, but this beer is still quite refreshing with lively carbonation. Enjoyable, but not impressive.

Pours straw with minimal head. Aroma is estery and slightly grassy. The maly flavor is noticeable but slight and the hop presence is lacking. Not much in the way of a finish either. I’ve had better.

Late night at the Temple Bar, Copenhagen, RBESG Pub Crawl, August 2005. Can’t recall whether this was on tap or from the bottle. Slightly hazy, straw colour. Fresh, clean aroma, but downhill from there. Dull and rather sweet on the palate. Tasted nearly as tired as I was. Not too interesting.

Draught pint at Bukowski’s downtown 4/27/06. Pours a clear light golden color with a small white fizzy head. Nose is grassy and straw with some light sweet sugar notes. Palate is smooth with just the right carbonation and a crisp clean finish. Flavors of grass and hay, some light sweet and honey notes.

Bottle. Whitre short head. Unclear yellow body. Strangely fruity aroma. Rich fruity flavor without being sweet, nice bitterness.

12oz bottle. Clear, vivid golden hue. Small ring of white head. Sweet, crispy mildly grainy nose. Apples and slight cinnamon aroma. Lively crisp and rounded, until the bitter finish kicks in. Damn good and dry! Creamy and smooth. Easy yet full of flavor. Simple with a fantastic bitter hop driven dry finish. Honey-ish and lingering. Tasty!
