Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Pilsner is a refreshing golden lager beer, brewed in the style favored by New York’s pre-Prohibition brewers. In the 1840’s, the pilsner style emerged from central Europe to become the world’s most popular style of beer. Like its ancesters, Brooklyn Pilsner is traditionally brewed from the finest European two-row barley malts. German-grown Perle and Hallertauer hops provide a crisp, snappy bitterness and fresh, floral aroma. We ferment Brooklyn Pilsner at cool temperatures and then give it a long, gentle maturation (lagering), which results in a beer of superior complexity and smoothness.

Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells of yogurt, lemons and some hay. Tastes orangey with a very nice sweet finish. A classic pils it is not, but this is one heck of a good beer.

Yellow gold color, large foamy white head. Clean grainy malt aroma with hints of acrid floral hops. Smooth maltiness with a crisp bitter citrusy hop presence in the finish. Mouthfeel is smooth and light with a lingering crispness.

Out of bottle. Aroma hoppy and sweet malt. Poured a nice clean golden with thin white foam head. Flavor was good, floral and citric hop flavor, primarily orange peel. Palate was medium body and finish was mostly clean. Overall not to complex but a solid daily drinker.

Deep golden color with a good amount of head some lacing. Full malt and hop nose. Great grain profile with a grassy hop bite and the end. Medium body. Good beer.

Bottle: Courtesy of Degarth via trade. Aroma is light sweet with a touch of orange and lighter hops. Pours a transparent gold with a small white head. Decent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet up front with orange. Orange becomes more orange peel in tthe finish with some hops that are stronger than most pilsners. Refreshing and drinkable, which is all I really hope for in a pilsner. The best examples of the style will pretty much always score in the low 3’s. It’s just not a style I get excited about. With that said, if pilsners are your thing, this one is definitely worth a try.

I am not a big pilsner fan. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale yellow color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is lightly hoppy and has a faint citrus undertone. The flavor is light and crisp malts with a hint of citrus underneath. Not too bad for a pils.

This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of white colored foamy mostly lasting finely sized bubbles that left behind a atransparent light orange brown colored softly carbonated body and a poor lacing. The aroma was malty with a mild sweaty sock note. The mouth feel was mild and tingly from start to finish with a crisp malt hop palate and a malt hop dough flavor.
