Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Pilsner is a refreshing golden lager beer, brewed in the style favored by New York’s pre-Prohibition brewers. In the 1840’s, the pilsner style emerged from central Europe to become the world’s most popular style of beer. Like its ancesters, Brooklyn Pilsner is traditionally brewed from the finest European two-row barley malts. German-grown Perle and Hallertauer hops provide a crisp, snappy bitterness and fresh, floral aroma. We ferment Brooklyn Pilsner at cool temperatures and then give it a long, gentle maturation (lagering), which results in a beer of superior complexity and smoothness.

Clear gold body with a thinnish head. There are some mild hops on the nos wih a bit of straw malt. It’s drier than the Brooklyn Lager I had just before. It’s slightly grassy in the flavor, but it’s also a little on the weak side. It could use a bigger dry, straw malt and more of the hops.

Bottle from slob! Pours slightly hazy golden color with almost no head. Mild aroma, typically pilsnerish with soapy maltiness and floral , grassy hops. Flavor is malty with lots of crisp, hoppy bitterness in the mid to finish and a citrusy aftertaste. Light body and assertive carbonation combined with th clean taste make this a refreshing brew.

Pours clear deep gold with a dense, medium foamy white head. Aroma of herbal, grassy hops and an undercurrent of what I can best describe as sweet bread. Flavor has notes of grain, some lemon, grass and ends with a harsh, bitter metallic bite, which lingers forever. I would’ve preferred some residual sweetness but none. Dry finish. Medium mouthfeel, could use more malty body. Starts off nice then goes downhill rather fast.

Pours a pretty shade of pure gold with a moderate white head, streams of carbonation and good lacing. Aroma is of crisp, somewhat grassy hops. Excellent refreshing flavor of crisp bittering hops over a pleasant sweetness from the malts. Very easy to drink; a fine pilsener by my standards.

i was actually impressed with this pilsner. pretty good body and texture and it was damn fine because it was about 900 degrees in asheville at the time. straw yellow color, not much smell (to be expected) but a nice almost fruity finish. a real good pils, something i may buy soon. sampled at brewgrass 04 on draught.

On tap at Summits Wayside Tavern...Nice floral aroma to this one...NIce and light but not at all simple in fact it is quite complex for a pilsner..Good hoppy finish...If you get the chance definitely check this one out a time or two...maybe three

Brooklyn serves up a classic pilsner here. Golden hazy appearance, sweet corn aroma, and a vegatable taste. Light in alcohol, mild hops, make a fine session beer.
