Dickinsonbeer (2550), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 2, 2008 Draught. Pours a deep dark ruby reddish color with a thin white head. Aroma is very thick with tons of dark caramelized german malts- lots of sharp dark munich, with some fruitiness as well- figs, raisin, and other dried fruits. Good clean malt profile, doesnt have that big toasted bready malt profile, but rather goes a bit darker and is more caramelized nd sharp malts, with some leather, earth and wierd astringency at the end. Pretty good overall, yet different from many traditional german doppelbocks.

Aroma is sweet caramelized malts, toffee, fruity. Taate is fruity upfront with sweetness to follow. Some caramel-toffee flavor at the end. Almost too sweet for me & possibly not robust enough.
