goldtwins (3672), Nesconset, New York, USA Apr 12, 2008 Poured a reddish-brown color with a beige head. The aroma and flavor were fairly fruity and moderately sweet. Figs, Plums, and caramel dominate. Medium bodied with a smooth feel. Very drinkable.
Dickinsonbeer (2466), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 2, 2008 Draught. Pours a deep dark ruby reddish color with a thin white head. Aroma is very thick with tons of dark caramelized german malts- lots of sharp dark munich, with some fruitiness as well- figs, raisin, and other dried fruits. Good clean malt profile, doesnt have that big toasted bready malt profile, but rather goes a bit darker and is more caramelized nd sharp malts, with some leather, earth and wierd astringency at the end. Pretty good overall, yet different from many traditional german doppelbocks. beerbuzzmontreal (2673), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 16, 2008 Sampled on tap at Great Lost Bear. Pours a clear brown color with a ring of light brown lace. Aroma of fruits and malt, there’s also a little something weird and unpleasant. Flavor of fruits, chocolate and malt. The body is light with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. rocbyter (586), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Jun 14, 2008 Odd tangy fruit aroma. Dark amber color with a light brown head. Sweet in the beginning with a sweet belgian yeast taste. slightly creamy palate. jayme_9874 (743), Hamburg, New York, USA Jun 11, 2008 Growler. Deep mahogony, clear, decent head and lace. Dark, bready, malty nose, hint of caramel and spice. Medium bodied at best, smooth malty flavors, sweet and bready, nice spicy, dry hoppy bite at the end. Well constructed brew, a bit subdued, could have more richness but not a bad gal to spend the night with, hell you might even stick around for breakfast.... ucusty (803), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jun 9, 2008 Rating 700 Dark brown pour minimal head. Fruity aroma(possibly cherry?). Chocolate, and malts up front. Sweet caramel malty finish
