emerica56 (575), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA May 31, 2008 The color is a cloudy orange with a thick foamy and sudsy head. The nose is nice and sweet with bready malt and bitter sweet hops with some hints of lemon grass. Initially the flavor is nice and tart with lemon and clove with the hops finishing it off. I like how you only get the hop bitterness when you have the beer in your mouth, but after it fades away and all you can taste is clove on your palate. It is a nice and refreshing beer made with quality ingredients. juiceisloose (634), Windermere, Florida, USA May 31, 2008 This one poured a golden orange color with a medium foamy white head that receded slowly. The aroma is of banana, cloves, cinnamon, and some citrus fruit hops. The flavor follows suit with some spices, bananas, cinnamon, and caramel malt flavors. The flavor isn’t overly sweet, but has a good amount of hops in there. The body is medium-full with a good amount of carbonation that finishes very clean with a hop bitterness left behind. This one is good, but I like the Schneider version a little better. Another solid collaboration from these guys again. RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA May 30, 2008 Bottle. Very interesting. Quite a bit of hops to it, but a god balance with the yeastyness. Banana and pine. Kinda weird, but in a good way. cmillward (418), Orlando, Florida, USA May 30, 2008 Bottle @ GOBF 08. Pours a semi-hazed golden/deep amber with a craggy white head, laces the glass nicely. Yum, I’m pretty sure the huge aromatic hops here are amarillo (smells much like the Chouffe tripel/IPA), but just huge upfront floral and slight citrus hops on top of a solid banana bread, fruity, sweet malty base, cloves and other spices dance behind the immense hop whiff. Hoppy, well rounded, spicy wheat, citrus, nice bitter end kick. Full-bodied and good carbonation, not too sweet. A great and interesting strong wheat beer. So balanced. I def need to try the Schneider version. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA May 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a one finger white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of bananas, wheat, Amarillo hops (YUM), floral hops, yeast, and a hint of clove. Taste is the same as aroma with the clove being a bit more dominant. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. This beer is so well balanced and just down right tasty. The Amarillo and Palisade hops were a perfect compliment to the yeast phenols and wheat. A very tasty brew. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA May 29, 2008 C&C 750. Props for a very classy looking label and bottle. Hazy yellow with a huge white head. Lots of carbonation bubbles. Spicy, sweet banana nose, clove and white pepper, light bubblegum. Beautiful sheet of white lace. Wheaty and hoppy flavors dominate - grass, lemon and grapefruit over wheat, spicy clove and pepper, mild banana. Medium body, satiny and bouncy all at once. Sweet grass, apricot and orange finish. Many of these crossover type experiments don’t work, but this one sure as hell does - well done! wickedpete (625), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA May 29, 2008 Pours a cloudy light orange with a very tall white head leaving fluffy patches on the glass. Strong hoppy character in the aroma surrounded by a yeasty citrus and spicy wheat nose. Nice pleasantly light flavor shows a refreshing doughy body with great hop backbone with a slight bitterness rolled in. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA May 28, 2008 Golden orange, huge frothy/rocky white head. Yeasty banana bread up front, spicy/herbal hop background, faint citrus. Flavor not as bright as aroma. Biscuity malt character up front, spic and herbal hops come in through the middle. Finishes with some soapy bitterness. Lively mouthfeel. Finish knocks off a few points.
