mesperon (133), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA Jul 5, 2009 Pours opaque golden orange with fluffy white head. Aroma of very floral, perfumy hops and sweet citrus, banana and ripe fruits. Just slightly herby. Very light, but full mouthfeel with fluffy carbonation. Sweet citrus flavor to start at the tip of the tongue, grassy hop bitterness and fresh floral hop flavors come out on the middle of the tongue. Light, airy malt base. Finishes with crisp hops grassy and bite, and warming alcohol pepperiness. Alcohol is very present, but not at all obnoxious or overpowering. obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Jul 4, 2009 Thistle, pineapple, and pine bouquet. Caramel undertones. Cloudy golden, massive light yellow head, good lacing. Vinous lemon cream pie with pineapple and clove flavor. Pine and clove finish. Much hoppier and less hefe than the Schneider version. gnoff (3559), Göteborg, Sweden Jun 30, 2009 Draught at Haket In June, 2009 Hazy orange color, white head. Nice, fruity, apricots scent. Fruity tasty, malty taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Jun 26, 2009 Bottle at home ... ok on to side by side with its Brother ... more orangy amber ... nose is brighter and more hoppy yeast and pine hop is much more noticible ... sharper edge bit more bitter ... but seems a bit shalower... lots of pine present...although it doesnt seem to have the depth of its brother it just seems to have a bit more kick... 3.8 leems (147), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 19, 2009 On tap @ Moon & Sixpence (Portland, OR) - A very cloudy light orange with a thin white head. Bright lemon and yeast nose. The flavor is initially green apple, and citrus hop followed by a yeasty sweetness. Unusual beer but very refreshing, I would definitely drink this again especially on a nice hot day. PaulHegedus (458), Georgetown, Ontario, Canada Jun 7, 2009 Bottle. Very nice to share this with my friend Matthew for his birthday! This beer is really beautiful. A hazy golden orange colour, the bottle fills two weizen glasses wonderfully with a huge, thick fluffy white head like yeasty bread dough on each. The aroma is fantastically complex and interesting. There’s some very fresh citrus, especially orange, banana, clove, plenty of yeastiness and a whole lot of fresh leafy hop aroma, juicy and equally citrusy. The mouthfeel is thick, unfiltered and medium to full, very drinkable with good carbonation for a warm day out in the backyard. The flavour is wonderful; there’s plenty of fresh grassy hops, grapefruit, orange, lemon, banana, clove, mango. The alcohol is very well masked. The banana really stays on the tongue after taking a sip. I would imagine that bottle refermentation helps keep it tasting as fresh as it does. Food pairing options for this could be interesting to experiment with. hoppopotamus (182), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jun 7, 2009 A nice hazy golden beer with a large fluffy white head. Good sweet citrusy hop nose with yeasty wheat breadiness. Amazing hop flavor, like juicy fruit. Doesn’t have the bitterness that most hoppy beers bear, but this works real well with the light wheat malt. Perhaps the perfect summer beer, very refreshing! No trace of the 8.5%. Very unusual beer, but I think it really works! BigDUK (9), West Yorkshire, England does not count Jun 2, 2009 On tap @ North BAr (Leeds, UK).
Lovely sweet, grapefruity, bready aroma. Bright gold in colour and hazy. Tastes as it smells, with more pronounced and welcome yeastiness easy to drink very quaffable. Very impressed would seek out again.
